This week I designed a poster for Duns Players production of The Tempest, which will be performed in September at Duns Volunteer Hall. I designed a dramatic image for the poster using all the Adobe Creative Cloud software. I created the waves in Adobe Illustrator. Then I took the design into Photoshop and added the dark shadows, then I added the text in InDesign. My client is very happy with the overall design.
This week I designed a poster for a cabaret night for Duns Players. The design was very simple. I used AI in Photoshop to expand the background of the supplied photo. I think the photo supplied is a stock photo. I used a quite bold font so that the text was punchy. The event will take place on Sunday 5th July at the Volunteer Hall in Duns at 7.30pm.
Last week I updated the mapfold leaflet for Keeping Duns Blooming Marvellous. KDBM are a group of volunteers who maintain the flowerbeds in Duns. The Flowerbed Trail leaflet needed some amends and I sorted it last week. I added a new QR Code to include the Duns Town Trail and a few text amends. Overall my client was happy with the finished design.

Today I designed a poster for Duns Players production of A Dangerous Man at Duns Play Fest 2026. The play will be held in Duns on May 4th 2026. I created the design using mostly Photoshop and InDesign. I didn't use any AI. My client gave me a short brief description of what they needed and the were happy with my design.
This week I designed a poster for Duns Players Secret Cabaret, which is on this Sunday 22nd of February. I didn't do a lot to the design, just edited the previous design. This is the banner that went on Facebook.
This week I have been designing the new tickets for the RSCDS. The Weekend event will be held in May 2026. I have included a sample of one of last years tickets for the coffee morning in Duns. The designs this time around will be different.
This week, I designed the programme for the Duns Players production of WAUR! which takes place at the Volunteer Hall on the 6th and 7th of November. The programme is an 8 page A5 keepsake of the show. There are nine separate shows that outline various wars, through the ages, that have affected the people of Berwickshire.
Yesterday I was working on a mug mock-up design for a client of mine. This is the visual I have prepared. The logo is a picture of a globe with some leaves appearing to grow out of it. My client, Stephen Kenaghan Services is very happy with my designs.
This week, I am working on a poster for a show by Duns Players called WAUR! The dramatical show tells the story of war in Berwickshire through the ages. The design has yet to be finalised, but I'm pretty confident, they will like it. The image of the warrior is AI generated which I bought from Adobe Stock. The swords are also from a stock image. The poster will be printed and used online to promote the show in November. QR code is yet to be added to the design.
This week I made some adjustments to a logo design for Stephen K Services based in the Isle of Wight. The image of the globe is taken from a stock image, but my client is fine with that. The logo will be used for embroidery onto work shirts. I have done a few jobs for this client over the last few years, including business cards, note pads and stickers. My client is very happy with my work.
This week, I completed some exhibition signage for Earlston in Bloom. I designed a banner plus a feather flag, double sided. Earlston in Bloom are a gardening group based in Earlston, in the Scottish Borders. They look after the public garden spaces around the town. It was a very simple design just using their logo in blue colour ways. My client was very happy with the design.
This week I designed an information sign for Whitsome Enhancement Group. The purpose of the sign is to outline what WEG does for the Whitsome village community. You can find out more about Whitsome at whitsome.scot. The sign will be made of printed vinyl, laminated and mounted onto di-bond material. My client was very happy with the design.
This week I designed a banner for Whitsome Enhancement Group. It is to promote their annual plant sale which usually takes place in June. I used stock images for the design, which the client was very happy with.
One of my tasks this week was to design a poster for an event at this years Duns Play Fest. It is a one man show featuring John McEwen (Duns Players) called Y.C.A.G.W.Y.W. (You Can't Always Get What You Want). It is about a dying mans quest to do something for his community that he doesn't even like that much. I used a font that had a bit of punch to it. The client was very happy with the design.
Word Weavers are a creative writing group who meet in Duns. They are giving a performance of monologues at this years Duns Play Fest. This week I designed a poster for their event in May. I chose to do a Mondrian style design poster because I thought it fitted well with their title 'In The Frame'. The client was very pleased with the end result.
Last month I designed a new leaflet for Duns Flowerbed Trail. It combines the two old leaflets into one A3 folded to DL size leaflet. The map fold leaflet now has more information about Keeping Duns Blooming Marvellous and the map is in the centre pages. All the copy about each flowerbed is now on the centre pages. There is also additional info about the new Beacon bed in Duns park. The cover is much the same as the previous version. The leaflets were printed last week and the client is very happy with the finished result. They were printed on uncoated paper.
I recently designed a logo and business cards for Swinton Exterior Cleaning, based in the village of Swinton, Berwickshire. This company does all kinds of exterior cleaning. The client was happy with the final design.
This week, I finalised the poster design for Duns Players Secret Cabaret. This was an update to last years poster. This show is on Sunday 20th October at Duns Volunteer Hall.
This week I completed a sign for Grantshouse Community Council. The sign is going to be situated at the EV charging point in the village. The purpose of the design is to highlight a few locations in the area, like the Cedar cafe, public toilets, glade walk and the play park. My client was very pleased with the design and it is now in production.
