Today, I designed this flyer to promote my painting work. Perhaps it is because of AI, or maybe reduced client marketing budgets, but my graphic design work has declined in the past two years, so last year, I thought it's time to diversify my income. I don't like the expression "side hustle" but I guess that is what my design work has become. I am now spending more time doing painting work than graphic design work. I am available to do paint jobs within the Duns and Berwickshire area.
I recently designed another wee postcard, as a souvenir from my trip to Islay. We enjoyed a good walk at Port Charlotte that day, although there was no footpath on the hillside behind the village and it was very boggy in some places. I took this photo with my iPhone and added the text in Freeform.

Just back from a trip to Islay. I created this postcard using the Freeform app on my iPhone. It is pretty basic, but it was good that I was able to make something while on the move.
This week I designed an advertorial for Duns Players. It promotes the 3 events they are putting on in the autumn at the Volunteer Hall in Duns. I had a limited time to create something, but managed to get it done in time. I used AI to create the image with the magnifying glass. The advert is going into the Duns Community Newsletter. Update: 24/08/25 I have just found out that the Murder Mystery show has been cancelled, but the advert has gone to press, so it will still appear in the Duns newsletter. Today I removed the background from this stock image using Photoshop. The enhanced tool is pretty accurate and it managed to capture all the wispy edges like the hair. It did miss a bit of the left arm of the woman, but that can be easily fixed.
